The examination of concepts, theories, and research related to the advanced practice role. Explores the history and overview of the role of the advanced practice nurse as provider, consultant, educator, researcher, and leader in practice. Examines select legal, practice, and ethical issues in advanced practice.​

Reflection

During this course, I learned a vast amount of information regarding what types of advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) there are and their roles in the healthcare system. During each week, we would dive deeper into issues that were encountered by APRNs in practice and with legislation. As a part of the assignments required in this course, I created a cover letter, resume, conducted an interview with an APRN following with a written analysis, and completed an online e-portfolio.
